The Spaniards face the Ivory Coast in a friendly clash on March 1, and the Gunners regular has earned a well-deserved first call up to the squad as coach Luis Aragones explained.
"Cesc is young, but after a year and a half in the Arsenal team he has emerged as a very important player,” said Aragones. "He's performed well for the under-21s and he's also got an eye for goal."
The 18-year-old has certainly been a key performer for Arsenal this season, and displayed a maturity beyond his tender years against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League this week.
Jose Antonio Reyes has also been named in the Spain squad.
